U.S DOL RESOURCE CENTERS

The U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) set up 11 Resource Centers around the country. The representatives in these centers help former workers and their families apply for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). You can find Resource Centers in:

• Idaho Falls, Idaho
• Paducah, Kentucky
• Espanola, New Mexico
• Las Vegas, Nevada
• Buffalo, New York
• Portsmouth, Ohio
• North Augusta, South Carolina
• Oak Ridge, Tennessee
• Richland, Washington

Former workers can find valuable information about the claims process, help to complete the necessary forms and send documents to the DEEOIC District Offices. U.S. DOL representatives at the Resource Centers can help in person or over the telephone. If you need help, it doesn’t matter where you’re geographically located.

The representatives help people wanting to submit a claim by working through the initial employment verification steps for all new EEOICPA claims. They can also help former workers pull together their occupational history.

The Resource Centers also conduct outreach activities to inform former workers of benefits and requirements of the EEOICPA.

Former workers can also receive assistance in filing for additional compensation for impairment to their health, adding covered conditions, or help in receiving or billing for health benefits under the EEOICPA.

Former workers should contact the appropriate Resource Center for their current state of residence, or they may contact the Resource Center nearest to the work site where they were employed.
