From DOL’s website, “The Site Exposure Matrices (SEM) website has been updated! This update makes the website current through May 10, 2019. New information is now available for 21 DOE sites including initial SEM remediation profiles for the following four sites: CH Schnorr, Seymour Specialty Wire, Weldon Spring Quarry, and Weldon Spring Raffinate Pits. Significant additions were also made to the Mallinckrodt-Destrehan Street, Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, and Weldon Spring Plant profiles.

DOL received 20 public submittals related to toxic substances and disease inputs since the last update on November 16, 2018. Three of those submittals resulted in revisions of the SEM profiles for the Area IV of the Santa Susana Field Lab (ETEC) and Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. DOL reviews of the labor categories in the Department of Energy’s Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR) are continuing. Since November 16, 2018, reviews of CEDR information have been completed and results incorporated into the SEM profiles of the Oak Ridge and Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plants.

Part E claim file information provided by the DOL District Offices is also being used to update SEM. A total of 11 changes were made to the SEM profiles of DOE sites, including Los Alamos National Laboratory, Nevada Test Site, Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant, Mound and the Fermi National Laboratory.

Since the SEM first became available to the public in March 2010 there have been 17 revisions of the SEM website. Prior to the release of each new version, the US Department of Energy (DOE) reviews the new and revised information to ensure that no classification issues exist. If necessary, changes are made. For this most recent version, no changes were required.”
