The Advisory Board on Radiation and Worker Health held a teleconference to discuss plans for their April 2021 meeting.  The April meeting will be held virtually April 14-15, 2021.

NIOSH reported that there will be no new Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) Evaluation Reports (ER) ready for the Board for the April meeting.  NIOSH hopes to have the ER for the Pinellas plant to the Board’s Work Group in May or June of 2021. The Work Group hopes to have their first meeting before the August full Board meeting. The Y-12 Addendum is also planned to go to that Work Group about the same time.

Brad Clawson, Chair of the Savannah River Site Work Group, informed the Board that the Board’s contractor, Sanford Cohen and Associates (SC&A), has finished their review of NIOSH’s newly proposed methodology to reconstruct dose for the subcontractors.  It is now being reviewed by the Department of Energy for classification issues.  This petition will be discussed the on April 14, 2021.

The SEC petition for Metals and Controls will also be discussed during the April 2021 meeting.

The SEC petition for Pantex did not qualify for the Board’s evaluation.  It is currently undergoing the administrative review process.
