The SEC class for Y-12 to 7/31/79 is now official

Two more classes of employees are now members of the Special Exposure Cohort (SEC).  The class for the Y-12 facility has been extended to include all employees of contractors and subcontractors through July 31, 1979. In addition, the class for the West Valley facility’s class is from January 1, 1969 through December 31, 1973 for all employees of that site.

A member of these SEC classes must have worked at least 250 days at the site and contracted one of the 22 specified cancers mentioned in the statute.

The Department of Labor will reopen any previously denied claims which fall within this criteria.  You can read the full notice by clicking here.
