Cook Time: 50-60 min
Total: 60-70 min
Ingredients:
1 single crust pie shell
6 fresh peaches
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 tbsp. flour
Directions:
Peel and slice peaches into large mixing bowl. Mix sugar, eggs, flour and salt in medium bowl until ingredients are combined. Pour sugar mixture into peaches. Stir to coat peaches well. Pour peaches into pie shell. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 50–60 min. While the recipe only calls for a bottom crust, you can add a top crust if you so desire. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
Recipe Story:
Elizabeth was so excited to talk to us about her famous family recipe for peach pie that has been handed down for a few generations. Named after her mother-in-law Aurelia, this homemade dish has always been a favorite among family members because it is both simple to make and delicious. While working at the Mound Lab in Miamisburg, Ohio, Elizabeth often made this dish for her family on warm summer days. Aurelia’s peach pie tastes great on
its own, but accompanied with a bit of vanilla ice cream is the perfect way to enjoy this tasty treat.
About Mound Lab:
Mound Laboratories located in Miamisburg, Ohio was named after a nearby Indian burial ground. It was originally known as Dayton Engineer Works. During operation, detonators, cable assemblies, timers and firing sets for plutonium bombs were all created at Mound.
