NON-PROFIT GIVES BACK TO FIRE EVACUEES FROM LOS ALAMOS
1000 relief bags have been delivered to local food pantry
SANTA FE, NM – Cold War Patriots, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to connect current and former nuclear workers to resources in their community, has donated 1000 relief bags to aid the evacuees and their families from Los Alamos, NM.
The bags were filled with handheld snacks such as beef jerky, cheese crackers, granola bars, and bottled water and delivered to the Food Depot on 1222 Siler Road in Santa Fe.
Greg Austin, Director of the Advisory Board for Cold War Patriots, said helping those impacted by the fire is the right thing to do.
Over the normal course of our jobs, we help current and former Los Alamos National Lab workers get access to benefits and services they need and this is one more way for us to give back.
The effort to assemble the relief bags was made possible by local nurses from Professional Case Management, an in-home nursing agency who specializes in providing no-cost skilled nursing services to LANL workers.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to those impacted by the wildfire, said Austin. We hope for a speedy and positive resolution for everyone in and around the Los Alamos community.
Cold War Patriots is a membership based organization with over 5000 members nationwide. They connect members to resources through legislative updates, access to local and national advocates, host events around the community and keep their members informed through newsletters and web updates.
