Cold War Patriots is pleased to announce that the Department of Labor today announced that it has officially extended the comment period for the notice of proposed rulemaking published on November 18, 2015. (Click here to read full notice.) The deadline has been extended by 30 days; comments must now be received by February 18, 2016.

This will give us additional time to do a more thorough review of the proposed changes, so that we may submit more informed and thoughtful comments to the DOL. Both CWP’s leaders and our network of advocates have been working tirelessly over the past two months on behalf of all former workers nationwide to get this comment period extended. We would like to congratulate our members on this interim success and sincerely thank those of you who contributed to this effort by calling or submitting letters to Congress. This is yet another shining example of the important benefit that Cold War Patriots provides to its members—lobbying government on key topics that former nuclear and uranium workers care deeply about. We rely on our members to make our advocacy efforts successful. We encourage you to invite your former coworkers to become a member of Cold War Patriots, so that we may continue to amplify our collective voice.

However, our work is not done yet. Stay tuned as we provide further updates on the next steps we will take to ensure that Cold War Patriots across the U.S. continue to receive the fullest extent of the EEOICPA benefits that they have earned.
