CWP Recognizes National Downwinders Day

Today, January 27^th, marks the National Downwinders Day. This day brings to attention those who have become ill as a result of exposure to radioactive fallout from nuclear testing which took place in the Southwestern states (Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Nevada) during the 1950s and 1960s.  Compensation for health problems due to radioactive fallout became available through the Radiation Exposure Compensation Program (RECA), passed by Congress in 1990. Cold War Patriots would like to extend our support for the continuing and expanding federal compensation programs for downwinders.  To read more about National Downwinders Day and for information on compensation programs for downwinders click here.
