SEM Updated the week of January 20, 2020

From the Department of Labor’s Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program:

The Site Exposure Matrices (SEM) website has been updated! This update makes the website current through November 15, 2019.

  • New information is now available for 25 DOE sites
  • The initial SEM closure profile for Area IV of the Santa Susanna Field Laboratory
  • Profiles of Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride Conversion Facilities at the Paducah and Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plants.

Significant additions were also made to the profiles for:

  • Idaho National Laboratory
  • Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
  • Los Alamos National Laboratory
  • Rocky Flats Plant

Information provided by the DOL District Offices is also being used to update SEM. Changes were made to the SEM profiles for:

  • Brookhaven National Laboratory
  • Hanford/PNNL
  • Mound Plant
  • Nevada Test Site.

DOL received 19 public submittals related to toxic substances and disease inputs since the last update on May 10, 2019. Two of those submittals resulted in revisions of the SEM profiles for the Y-12 Plant and the Portsmouth GDP. DOL reviews of the labor categories in the Department of Energy’s Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR) continued and were completed for the Rocky Flats Plant.
