Hanford SEC Expanded to Include DOE Contractors

The Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) class of employees for the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington has now been expanded to include former U.S. Department of Energy contractors and subcontractors, with certain exclusions. The expansion will make it easier for many of these workers to receive monetary compensation and medical benefits through the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). The SEC designation for Hanford contractors and subcontractors took effect on June 21, 2015.
