Navigating your EEOICPA or RECA benefits doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.
Whether you’re a nuclear weapons or uranium worker trying to understand the U.S. Department of Labor EEOICPA application process, the medical benefits available through the program, or the home care options for which you may qualify, you deserve support you can trust. That’s where our Cold War Patriots Benefits Navigators come in. Our Benefits Navigators are people you can speak with directly who act as your single, trusted point of support — guiding you from start to finish and keeping you informed and educated every step of the way in applying for your U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) medical benefits white card and maximizing your EEOICPA benefits once you receive it.
Let Cold War Patriots do the work for you
There’s no need for you to feel unsure about how the process works or what comes next. We’re here to make the experience clear and easy. Our Navigators answer your important questions about how to file new claims or reopen denied claims, and make sure you always know what to expect next. You’re never alone on this journey.
Our Benefits Navigators will connect with you as soon as you start the process of applying for your U.S. DOL medical benefits white card, and will touch base with you every 30 days during the process to keep you informed and answer any questions you may have about the next steps. “As the only organization that actively advocated for workers’ rights when EEOICPA was first passed, we have been supporting this community since 2002 and feel a strong sense of loyalty and responsibility toward the workers we serve,” says Tim Vargo, who leads the Cold War Patriots Outreach Help Center and manages the Benefits Navigator team. “We’ve been fighting for workers since the beginning, and we continue to be a “go-to” resource for their ongoing needs related to home health care and durable medical equipment once their benefits have been approved.”
Our Benefits Navigators thrive on helping others
Jami, one of our Benefits Navigators, shares what drives her, “I’ve been working in the Outreach Help Center for almost 12 years, and nothing matters more to me than getting people the help they need. When workers realize a Benefits Navigator is here to guide them throughout their entire journey, I think they truly appreciate having someone in their corner.”

Andrea, another member of the Benefits Navigator team, shares this about her work: “My whole life, I’ve always strived to help people in one way or another. I love speaking with our workers every day and making sure they have everything they need from Cold War Patriots by the end of the call. My main focus is ensuring they receive great care and have a simple, stress-free way to communicate with the U.S. DOL during the filing process. I’m grateful to be a part of the lives of current and former workers.”

Creating relationships that last
Our number one priority is to create relationships defined by comfort and continuity with every worker we meet. Instead of feeling like you need multiple sources to help you navigate a complex government program, we want to be your one-stop solution and build trust by offering consistent, knowledgeable guidance.
